Tutustu työnantajaan

We are currently looking for an associate lawyer to join our Public Procurement Practice. The position is ideally suited for a newly graduated lawyer with some prior practical experience in public procurement and a genuine interest in the rapidly evolving public procurement landscape. You will be part of a team advising clients across borders and industries, on both sides of the table.

At Hannes Snellman, we combine legal excellence with industry knowledge and business understanding to help our clients make the smartest decisions in demanding situations. Our Public Procurement Practice is part of our IP & Technology Team and advises on some of the most complex public procurement matters. Our mandates range from assisting suppliers in tender procedures and supporting public sector clients in organising procurement processes, to handling negotiations and disputes, advising on public procurement aspects of M&A transactions, and representing clients before courts of law.

Lately, we have, for example, organised a tendering competition for the largest library system in the world, handled disputes in and out of court, assessed in-house limitations, advised bidders, and analysed obligations to conduct tender procedures within the utilities sector. Our work is very diverse, and we also do our best to have fun along the way. We are now looking for a team mate to tackle complex questions with us. We offer interesting legal challenges, international mandates, and an opportunity to make a real impact in the market.”

– Outi Jousi, Specialist Partner

Job Description and Responsibilities

As an associate, you will collaborate with more experienced colleagues in advising clients on various public procurement matters across diverse industries, including technology, life sciences, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, real estate, and public transportation. Your tasks will include drafting, reviewing and commenting on legal documents, conducting research and providing legal analysis, and contributing to the development of legal strategies for our clients. Beyond legal work, we value your contributions to our open and supportive team culture and to developing the practice together with your colleagues.

Skills and Requirements

We are looking for a colleague who:

  • shares a genuine interest in the field of public procurement law
  • has a forward-looking yet analytical way of working with attention to detail
  • takes ownership and is enthusiastic about providing world-class advice and service to our clients
  • communicates clearly, openly, and constructively, ensuring smooth collaboration
  • is open to using AI tools as part of modern legal work
  • is fluent in Finnish and English (other languages would be considered a bonus)

Most of all, we value a positive attitude, perseverance and willingness to learn.

What We Can Offer You

At Hannes Snellman, we cherish a sense of community and will do our best to make you feel part of the team from day one. With us, you will have the opportunity to work with some of the most interesting clients and assignments in the Finnish, Nordic, and international markets. As part of our dedicated team, you will also be able to learn from a multi-disciplinary approach through close collaboration with our other business areas. As we are determined to maximise your learning experience, we offer excellent training opportunities, an experienced coach to support your career development, and skill development programmes. In addition, we offer personal annual plans, additional fringe benefits, and we have a structured system for compensating overtime hours. We live by four principles: we inspire, we develop, we communicate, and we are present for each other.
