We are looking for a

Trainee 

to work in our Compliance & Legal teams for a full-time, fixed term position in Helsinki.

Finnfund´s Compliance team ensures company operations comply with applicable regulations. The team is responsible for handling issues regarding anti-money laundering, sanctions and whistleblowing. The main duties of the team include KYC work regarding new financing projects, as well as monitoring, updating and handling KYC information for existing projects.

Finnfund’s Legal team is responsible for the in-house legal work regarding Finnfund’s projects. Our lawyers lead various cross-border debt, equity and mezzanine financing projects from the legal side of matters, which includes but is not limited to structuring investments as well as drafting, commenting and negotiating the related documentation.

This opportunity combines legal and compliance work, creating a one-of-a-kind chance for you to experience the versatile job roles of compliance professional and an in-house lawyer.

 

What you will be doing

As a Trainee, you will assist in Know Your Customer (KYC) work as well as other compliance and legal related tasks.

 

Who we are looking for 

We are looking for a legal student in the late phase of their studies who has a strong interest in compliance matters, specifically KYC and anti-money laundering issues. Earlier work experience in a similar field is considered a merit.

We appreciate a genuine interest to learn and grow in both compliance and legal areas in an international working environment.

We require good knowledge of company law as well as a good command of the Finnish and English languages. Other language skills, such as French and Spanish, are considered an asset as they are spoken in many of our target countries. An ideal candidate is able to take initiative, is detail-oriented and prepared to take on responsibility.

The traineeship is full-time from May until the end of August but there is a possibility to start part-time work already in March/April 2023.
