Job description
You will work as part of our experienced legal team in close collaboration with our fundraising and business operations for a fixed 3–5-month period, with the possibility of continuing the relationship afterwards. The specific timeline is agreed individually. You will have the opportunity to take on responsibilities based on your specific interests and capabilities, but your core duties include at least the following:
· drafting, processing and reviewing legal documentation
· assisting the legal team and stakeholders in various legal tasks
· carrying out investor onboarding and KYC process
· carrying out legal research
There is also a possibility of widening the scope of your work to include being a part of our business operations, should it suit your interests and capabilities. However, your main duties will revolve around legal matters.
Candidate requirements
Potential trainees can be in the early years of their studies or close to graduation. The job description will be modified based on the specific knowledge and background of a successful candidate but to succeed in this role, we require:
· at least 90 study credits
· strong interest in the private equity market and business law
· fluency in written and spoken Finnish and English, other languages are considered a plus
· ability to take initiative and work independently
· ability to work in a dynamic environment
· strong interpersonal skills
· strong will to learn
· go-getter attitude and a will to take on responsibility
Earlier work experience in the legal field is highly valued but not required. We also appreciate passion for extracurricular activities outside of work and business; many of our team members are active sportspeople and passionate musicians. Life should not be all about work!
What do we offer you?
We will provide you with ample opportunities to take on meaningful responsibility and you will have the opportunity to kickstart your career with a steep learning curve in both business law and private equity. You will get to know and work closely with our seasoned private equity and legal professionals and talented trainee team. We are committed to maximize our employees’ learning opportunities and you will receive regular feedback on your work. Also, together with Hamilton Lane, we will organize many insightful and fun events for our clients and team members to which you’re warmly welcome to join.
At AlterInvest, culture is key. We offer a work environment filled with passionate people and unique experiences. Our goal is to create a place where people want to work — not just feel they have to — and we encourage everyone to contribute to that environment in their own way. We place strong emphasis on cultural fit when evaluating candidates.
How to apply?
If you are interested in joining our team, please submit your application, CV, matriculation examination diploma and university transcripts by 25th April 2025. We will be interviewing candidates during the recruitment period and the positions will be filled after a successful candidate is interviewed, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
Remember to include your preferred starting date and length of trainee period in your application. We prefer successful candidates to start in their positions as soon as possible, but we are also happy to accommodate other timelines as appropriate.
