The Global Ethics and Compliance function is responsible for and oversees the implementation of our Global Ethics and Compliance program. It is an advisory function that supports Huhtamaki in conducting its business in compliance with laws, regulations and ethical business conduct with focus on following key areas: Code of Conduct, Whistle-blowing and related investigations, Anti-bribery & anti-corruption, Conflict of interest, Data privacy, Trade sanctions compliance, and Competition compliance. In addition, Global Ethics and Compliance helps our business to create policies and processes to identify and mitigate compliance risks and organizes trainings on various ethics and compliance topics.

We are now looking for a talented Ethics & Compliance, Counsel/Manager (fixed-term) to join our team. In this position you will play an important role in implementing our Ethics & Compliance program. The role will report to VP, Governance & Assurance in the Corporate Affairs and Legal function. You will preferably be based in our Global Headquarters in Espoo, Finland. This is a parental leave cover for approx. 10 months starting preferably in April 2025.

Responsibilities and key activities:

  • Providing ethics & compliance expertise and guidance to Huhtamaki worldwide in specific matters, especially in privacy law, competition law and trade sanctions compliance, in collaboration with team members
  • Further development of Huhtamaki´s Ethics and Compliance program in defined areas by developing and implementing related policies, procedures and trainings
  • Wide spectrum of tasks related to ethics & compliance, such as compliance screenings, analysis, drafting reports and other documents, and providing data to reporting purposes

The position’s title depends on your background, skills, and experience. The Global Ethics and Compliance function is working as a team, and key responsibilities for specific areas will be allocated among the team members based on experience and interest.

Requirements for the role:

  • Degree in law, business or other relevant area
  • At least few years experience from a similar role within an international organization, ideally Finnish stock-listed company or manufacturing industry
  • Business-minded professional passionate about ethics and compliance and interested in working in an international and multicultural organization
  • Positive and proactive can-do attitude, strong in co-ordination, communication, analysis, and project management skills
  • High-level of integrity, diligence and attention to detail
  • Willingness to take responsibility and ability to act also independently in your area of responsibility
  • Development mind-set: willingness to develop processes and take part in digitalization initiatives
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)
