About the role

This is a unique opportunity to join the Avail team as our first Legal Trainee. You will assist our dedicated and ambitious team of lawyers across all practice areas by handling a variety of legal and administrative tasks. The position offers a front-row seat to witness the growth and development of an emerging law firm, providing an excellent opportunity to enhance your legal expertise. You will have the chance to learn and take on new tasks, which can be tailored to align with your skills and ambitions.

We hope you can begin as soon as possible but the starting date can be arranged according to your situation. The duration of the trainee period is six months. The first half of your traineeship will be part-time (2–3 days a week), allowing you to combine the role with your studies. The second half, during the summer months, will be full-time. The timing of the transition between part-time and full-time can be discussed and adjusted to suit your situation.

You have the option to work remotely part of the time if you wish, though we hope you will regularly join us at the office.

Your daily tasks

• Conducting legal research and preparing materials for client assignments
• Drafting legal documentation
• Reviewing contracts
• Preparing court documentation
• Assisting with due diligence tasks
• Communicating with authorities
• Maintaining office organization systems and handling various office tasks

What we are looking for

Ideally, you are in the final stages of your legal studies. Previous experience in legal trainee positions is a definite advantage but not required. While we don’t expect you to know everything, a proactive and flexible mindset, an energetic and positive attitude, a business-oriented approach and strong interpersonal skills are essential. Excellent written and spoken Finnish skills, along with a working proficiency in English, are required.

• Studies: A solid foundation in legal studies.
• Courses: An understanding of the basics of contract law, company law, procedural law, employment law and intellectual property law.
• Language skills: Excellent skills in both written and spoken Finnish, along with a working proficiency in English.
• Mindset: Flexible, proactive, business-oriented and entrepreneurial, with strong interpersonal skills.
• Attitude: Energetic and positive attitude, with a strong desire to dive into the work and a drive to grow.
