CGI Suomi Oy

CGI is one of the largest IT and business consulting companies both in Finland and worldwide. Our strong experience in different industries helps our public and private sector clients succeed in digital transformation and achieve their goals more effectively.

Legal trainee

We offer you a challenging and dynamic working environment and a unique opportunity to gain insight into an internationally operating IT services company where people, business and technology come together.

As a Legal Trainee, you will become part of our compact and supportive in-house legal team. Our main responsibility area covers Finland, Poland, and the Baltics. While the traineeship will primarily focus on supporting our Finnish business operations, you may also have the opportunity to assist in matters related to other countries within our region.

During the traineeship, you will familiarize yourself with IT services related to contract and business law in a varied and fast-paced environment. Your tasks will mainly include drafting, reviewing, analyzing, and commenting on contracts, as well as supporting the legal team in various day-to-day matters such as administrative and operational tasks.

The role and responsibilities can be tailored based on your previous experience and competence. We usually start with the basics, and for the right person with curiosity and eagerness to learn, we offer extensive opportunities to develop and grow professionally. We will also provide you with comprehensive training in ICT contracting throughout the traineeship.

As a compact team, we value collaboration, initiative, and a hands-on approach to everyday work.

We offer a one-year fixed-term contract with approximately 25 working hours per week. Working hours are agreed flexibly together with the other trainees.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a law student who has completed approximately 150 ECTS credits and is somewhere around the midpoint of their studies to join our in-house legal team.

Your profile

  • A structured and motivated approach to your career development
  • Previous trainee experience (law firm or in-house legal team experience is considered an advantage)
  • A productive, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset with a strong can-do attitude
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a compact team
  • Comfortable balancing big-picture thinking with attention to detail
  • Willingness to maintain regular on-site presence and actively participate in the team’s day-to-day work
  • Fluent Finnish skills and professional working proficiency in English, both written and spoken
  • Strong professional communication skills

We offer you

As a trainee, you will gain hands-on experience in a supportive and collaborative team environment while working with a wide variety of legal and business matters related to the IT services industry.

You will have the opportunity to develop your expertise in ICT contracting and in-house legal work through meaningful assignments, practical guidance, and training. We value curiosity, initiative, and continuous learning, and we aim to support your professional growth throughout the traineeship.

We know that success depends on people and culture, not forgetting about providing you with the tools, support and resources to grow. At CGI, you’ll create a career path that’s right for you through exciting assignments and internal career rotation. You can also continuously develop your skills and deepen your knowledge through CGI Academy.

We offer you a job where you can develop in the direction you want, but also the opportunity to own shares of the company through our unique share purchase plan. 85% of our employees are shareholders, which is why we are called CGI Partners.

We also work flexibly when life circumstances require it. We take care of you and your wellbeing with a wide range of employee benefits, including comprehensive occupational health care, leisure insurance, childcare service when a child falls ill and bicycle benefits. By participating in CGI’s wellbeing communities, you have the opportunity to get to know colleagues from all over the company through shared activities.
