Dottir Asianajotoimisto Oy

Dottir is a multi-practice law firm on the pulse of change. We create legal solutions that help our bold clients to move the world forward.

We’re scouting for Junior Legal Trainees – come join a fire crew that’s extremely good at what they do and eager to bring you up to the same level.

Dottir is not your traditional business law firm. We are a forward-looking firm that caters to future-oriented organisations. We provide comprehensive legal services covering all aspects of technological and societal change. To match that – we’ve built a work culture that values authenticity and open-mindedness above everything else.

Our upcoming Junior Legal Trainee internship kicks off in January 2027 and runs for 12 months on a part-time basis. The role is designed for law students who are still early in their studies (beginning or midway) but already curious about how things work behind the scenes. As a Junior Legal Trainee, you’ll support our day-to-day office work and occasionally pitch in to assist with legal research and drafting legal documents.

PS. For those applying again, we upgraded the title. Office Trainee had a good run, but Junior Legal Trainee is closer to what you’d actually be doing.

Why Dottir might be your kind of place

  • Supportive & low-hierarchy culture
We pride and cherish the work environment we’ve built in the last decade – a supportive ”we’ve got your back” type of workplace. Our culture is progressive and open-minded, with minimal hierarchy.
  • Every day’s a little different
The work varies – here’s a snapshot of how your week might look: One day you’re helping set up an event and welcoming our guests at the reception; the next, you’re drafting trade register filings, conducting legal research, and delivering documents to authorities.
  • Fair compensation and benefits
We believe all trainees deserve fair compensation – and we’re upfront about it from day one. On top of that, some of the perks: tennis and other wellness activities, office massages, memorable events, lunch and culture benefits, and comprehensive healthcare – including dental.

What we’re looking for

  • A legal mind with a good amount of curiosity
You’re a law student with a budding interest in business law and a desire to learn by doing.
  • Language skills
You are fluent in both written and spoken Finnish and English.
  • Right mindset & skills
You’re practical, detail-driven, and quick to take initiative. You care about the quality of your work and doing things well – whether it’s for a client or a teammate – you bring a good mix of professionalism and ”pleasant-to-work with” energy. Digital tools are your friends, and when problems pop up, you enjoy solving them.
  • Adaptable collaborator who is ready to roll
You work well with others, stay flexible when things shift, and don’t shy away from jumping into whatever lands in your inbox that day.

Application timeline

  • Please submit your application and CV in English by 9 April.
  • Once we’ve received your application, we’ll contact you within a few days to let you know what’s next.
  • Interviews and communication will be conducted in Finnish. Interviews will run throughout the application period, wrapping up by the end of week 18.
  • We’ll make final decisions and notify all candidates by the end of week 19.
