Tutustu DLA Piperiin

DLA Piper’s Corporate team is looking for a newly qualified lawyer to work as an associate on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital  and general corporate law matters. You will support Finnish and international clients as part of a collaborative global team, gaining hands-on experience in both domestic and cross-border assignments.

WHY DLA PIPER

International and skillful environment. As part of one of the world’s largest law firms, with offices  in more than 40 countries, you will work on local and cross-border transactions alongside colleagues in other jurisdictions. Our pan-Nordic presence means close day-to-day cooperation with our teams in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Our teams are highly ranked in leading legal directories such as Chambers, The Legal 500, IFLR 1000 etc.

Room to grow and influence. At DLA Piper, you’ll have genuine opportunities to expand your expertise and influence. You will develop your skills through varied work, collaboration with experienced colleagues and increasing responsibility as you progress. You will take part in all stages of a transaction, from due diligence to signing and closing, and gain client contact early on. You will be supported by experienced colleagues with access to DLA Piper’s international training programs.

Modern ways of working. We see AI as a tool that makes good lawyers better and therefore use AI-powered tools in our legal work. You will work hands-on with AI-powered tools from day one and help us shape how they are used across our team responsibly, critically and always with client confidentiality in mind.

Strong culture and values. We offer hybrid working environment with international twist. DLA Piper has strong values that show in their everyday life: be supportive, be collaborative, be bold, be exceptional. DLA Piper’s aim is to build an inclusive and supportive culture where everyone has the chance to achieve their best and experience the sense of belonging.

ABOUT YOU

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A Master of Laws (OTM) degree and a genuine interest in M&A and corporate law. We particularly value a Finnish law degree.
  • Previous experience as an M&A trainee, preferably at a law firm. Experience supporting transactions, legal due diligence or the preparation of transaction documents will be a particular advantage.
  • A collaborative approach, a willingness to learn and the initiative to take responsibility for your work.
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment and clear communication skills.
  • Ambition for quality, customer service, personal growth and supporting the firm’s goals.
  • An interest in using AI tools in legal work, together with the ability to use them thoughtfully, critically and in accordance with confidentiality and professional obligations.
  • Full professional proficiency in both Finnish and English.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will support the team in M&A, private equity and venture capital transactions and corporate law assignments. Your work may include legal and ESG due diligence, legal research and general corporate law matters, drafting and reviewing transaction documents, and helping the team identify and address legal and commercial issues.

You will also take an active role in becoming part of our team, getting to know your colleagues and building strong working relationships across the firm. Participating in student events and supporting collaboration with student associations will be part of your role.

As your experience grows, you will take on greater responsibility for assignments and client work.
