About the role

As a Junior Legal Counsel your primary focus will be tasks related to contract management and providing legal support for business operations and projects. You will handle tasks such as updating, translating, and drafting contracts and agreements. Additionally, you will provide legal advice on issues concerning e.g. data protection, procurement, and other projects. You will also support ad hoc legal questions and topics that may arise in various projects or development tasks.

Your regular tasks will include:

  • Managing, updating, and reviewing contracts and other agreements.
  • Internal development, site supervision contract management, development of the internal customer contract management processes, and internal audits related to project documentation.
  • Tasks related to data protection, such as GDPR updates and documentation.
  • Assisting our teams with ad hoc legal issues and various tasks when needed.

You will work alongside our Legal Counsel & CAO as an essential member of our business support team, working together with our project management and procurement team. You will have the opportunity to learn and take on new tasks, and we expect you to have a curious and commercial mindset.

The position is part-time, approximately 2–3 days a week, with fixed-term employment until 31st December 2024. If agreed, the employment may be continued as permanent after the fixed-term. The start date is either 17th June 2024 or 1st August 2024, depending on your situation. Our office is in Helsinki, but you have the option to work remotely part of the time if you wish.

What we are looking for

You already have a good deal of studies (at least 180 ECTS) behind you and you are familiar with the basics of contract law. You have some legal work experience, for example, from traineeship. While we don’t expect you to know everything, a curious and proactive mindset is essential. You’ll receive support from our team, but you will benefit from understanding data protection and company law basics. Knowledge on procurement or sustainability-related matters is also beneficial although not required. Since our working language is English, proficiency in both spoken and written English and Finnish is necessary.

We expect you to have

  • At least 180 ECTS of completed legal studies
  • Demonstrated legal experience from a law firm or in-house and understanding the basics of contract law
  • Working proficiency in Finnish and English both spoken and written
  • Flexibility, agility, curious attitude, and great attention to detail
  • Eager to deepen your expertise in various tasks and business-oriented approach to legal issues

You will also benefit from
